Schedule The course happens mainly in contact teaching at Humak’s Nurmijärvi campus (Kotorannantie 49 05250 Kiljava). Contact teaching includes lessons and a lot of group work in small groups. In addition, students do group work individually that will be presented 15.3.

Contents of the course

During this course, you will – gain understanding of how the field of youth and NGO work is built up in Finland – learn pedagogic skills and how to apply them with different groups of people – learn about the background and structure of the Finnish welfare model Contents of the course handle for example 1) the history, evolution and current state of youth work, 2) active citizenship and 3) NGO sector in Finland.

Course is suited for people who are interested in youth work and NGO sector.

The studies take place at the Humak campus in Nurmijärvi.

Prerequisites

  • A good command of the English language, both spoken and written (the studies are conducted in English).
  • Good social skills and an ability to work in a multicultural setting in diverse student groups.

Students will
